Cerenda Devore
The truth of the universe is stranger than most people might imagine. A long time ago before man there were demons and angels. Demons lived in a place called Hell, and angels who were created by God, lived in the shining kingdom of Heaven. God created the Earth and humans making them his favorite creations. The darkness grew jealous and wanted children of her own, so she created a race known as dark ones that came to live on the Earth with man.
Man mistrusted these children of the dark and plotted against them. They killed their king and queen leaving them without a leader.God was upset with his children for their mistrust and hatred that he decided to them hooping to teach them, and hoping they would learn tolerance for those not like them. So, he took the sun away, leading to angel being unable to stay on Earth for long periods of time, and a raise in the power of the Dark Ones, who enslaved mankind.
Humans were slaves and angels begged God to do something. He asked Demons to the race of man, they unlike angels did not need the light. Agreeing to protect them in exchange for humans giving them things they needed, like blood and sex, things they needed to survive. For a time this solution seemed to work, however, in time they began to believe they were entitled to certain things, and once again mankind was at the mercy of another species.
It might have continued like this forever if a young woman named Sara Jean hadn't climbed a mountain and convinced God to return the sun and with it, angels. It wasn't enough to fix the problem so something else was needed. Thus Sol was created to police demons on Earth and make sure they honored the first deal, thus who did not were to be punished. She was created to hunt demons if need be. It was a good idea but the death of someone she loved at the hands of a demon would drive her mad, and she would sweep across the world killing demons whether guilty or not. Rumors flew about it and many fled her wrath back to hell. In time she would realize it was wrong and would call a meeting of God, the rulers of hell, and herself.
A pact is formed...

as the bell tolls the meek inherit the Earth.
Thus, The Covenant of Heaven and Hell was formed, dictating how demons, and other supernaturals could come to Earth, and how they could behave. The Earth would now belong mostly to the race of man. Sol would walk the world making amends for her sins, and protecting the humans she so loved. The rules were set and agreed upon and the world changed. Some would break the rules, other would find ways around them, and some would bend them. Humans began to forget demons and angels being in many cases nothing more than stories. Something that might exist and the world and time moved on.
There were those that made deals with demons for power, one such practice involved binding them to a child, The demon got an open door to Earth, and the child power and a protector. Dark magic clans sought to bind the strongest demons to their kids to increase their power and standing unless male kids, for some reason girl children died in binding or so they claimed. Creating a society where these bonded men would come to rule and bind their kids for century upon century. Girls taking rolls as wives and mothers to powerful men, and the mecca for this became New Orleans, and the most powerful clan to raise, The Devore Clan.
It would be within this clan that Cerenda would be born the youngest of three children born to the legendary, Mason Devore. Mason believed in his clan, the world in which he existed and the rules that governed them. Ruthless and uncompromising, he was a man that demanding respect, and his enemies often dead. He married as one would expect a woman from their world whom he fell for and whom would increase he standing. They had one child Jared who was everything one could want in a son. He was gifted even from a young age and drew the attention of the fourth lord of hell, Kalei to be bonded too.

It would be a young woman from the North who would become Mason's second wife and the mother of the Kenneth and Cerenda. He would meet her and decide he had to have her, so much so in the end he divorced his first wife to marry her. Some say he loved her, others that she was different so he was drawn to her, and others he simply wanted to prove he could get her. Many in their world was not fond that he brought the mouthy girl from the North in she knew nothing of their world, and others thought his first wife and him were meant to be. It didn't matter he would do as he wished and who would tell him otherwise.
The new world freaked out Cerenda's mother, who was a modern woman, and she would find a friend and guide in the most unlikely of places, Jared's mother. It was her kindness towards Jared that gained his mother's friendship. They became close and Kenny would be born, however unlike his brother before him he just didn't have the same natural talent and his father began to look towards his next child, even though he had his heir in Jared it never hurt to have more strong sons.
This was when he received an interesting proposal from none other than Lucifer. He wanted to posses Mason and sleep with his wife to produce a child. Mason had dreams of a son with the powers of Lucifer, so agreed. When the baby was born it was everything he dreamed of the raw power was great, the only problem the baby was a girl.

Upon finding out Cerenda's mother became upset and decided to leave but not before convincing Jared's mom to come with her. They could leave it all behind and start again, raising their kids together. However, it wouldn't last because Mason would track them down and Jared's mom would pay the price; he killed her in front of her son. Some say he didn't kill Cerenda's mother because he loved her, others because she wasn't from their world and thus was more forgiving of her breaking the news. The reason wasn't important she returned with him and they lived together for awhile until she broke it off again, but this time she made sure he could be a part of Kenny and Cerenda's life thinking that might mean he would allow it and it seemed to work.
Mason would try to convince his wife to return to no avail, instead she would fall for a psychologist and marry him. Cerenda's mother's only regret was she could not take Jared with her, having no legal claim, and Mason refusing to let his heir go. It hurt Jared but she did everything in her power to give him time with his siblings. Mason needed to prime him for the day he would take over as head of the Devore Family. He trained him in the use of his magic and tried to mold him to be just like him.
However, Kenny was sort of passed aside for not being gifted enough and tried to gain his father's attention. Cerenda as a girl wasn't consider for a position of power instead Mason tried to find a way to use her powers for the clan and despite having raw power she was never taught to control them. Instead he figured her husband could learn to control them and use them and the man he promised her to was her half brother Jared. The clans have no problem with keeping blood lines pure, Cerenda, however, valued the beliefs of the outside world and wanted nothing to do with it despite the legends of who Jared and her were in a past life, and her growing feelings for him. Stories that rocked her to her very core.

Stories about a young woman who gained the love of a powerful warlord and at her bequest he almost gave her the world. She wondered how much of that girl lay tucked away inside her soul. And if those ambitions might rise to the surface and once again they might try to claim it all as her spiritual father Lucifer, who rebelled against Heaven, she might rebel against the world and make it hers, with the help of her brother whom in either life would deny her nothing was a risk she could not take. So, she would not marry him for those reasons.
She became close to her step father who tried to get her to open up about her feelings. However, she did not want to involve him to much in fear for and fear he would her as a monster. He had an adopted girl who she became close to and wanted to protect it was a good life and they were happy for the most part. Kenny, however, seemed try harder and harder to get attention and at the age of sixteen he died.
This a fight between her parents and whatever was said her mother died in a car wreck. Rumors spread that her mom faked her death and fled the country whether true or not only a few knew. Cerenda upset about the deaths of her brother and mother, and upset with her father made a choice. Everyone was sure Mason would bring his wayward daughter home and he tried she refused standing up to him. She had no interest in returning to that world at all. She wiped her hands of it. The only person she cared to see was Jared. She would remain with her step father and make her life there.
The things she saw while in Mason's world made her want to protect others from demons and dark magic. So, she set out to become a demon hunter, quite the blow some to Mason's world where demons played an important role. It wasn't about that it was about protecting innocents from people like her father, people like Jared's mom, Kenny, her own, and whoever else they might hurt along the way. And it gave her a purpose, a way to release and control her powers, giving her something to focus on.
Everyone is convinced that some day Jared will bring her home. They are wrong. She is happy where she is at and someday she will work up the courage to tell her step father and step sister everything. For now she does the best she can and is living her life on her terms no matter what. And neither of her fathers will stop her.
